Deep Down,

We're All Gymnastics Judges

How many times have you heard someone judge a person out of a 10? Call a guy or girl a "dime"? Add unnecessary numerical values to a person's appearance and physical stature? A damn lot of times.

Human beings suck. Without us as a society even knowing it, our instinct is to add numerical valued judgements to people around us. We may not even specifically describe someone as an 8 out of a 10 looks wise, but we are always comparing people to others in basic appearance.

"She could be thinner..."

"Is beautiful thin?"

"Her butt is only big because her legs are big"

"Thunder thighs"

"She is certainly not hot"

"You can't be a gymnast, you're too fat"

"Thigh gaps are hot"

"FAT"

Regardless of who we are, people are going to judge us. No one will ever experience not one judgmental comment in their life because people expect certain things from certain people strictly because of who they are and what they are involved in. Specifically female gymnasts. I am here to make the connection between the ten point gymnastics scale and the general judgmental public and how we make numerical judgements. And how judgment is everywhere we look.

"She's too heavy for gymnastics..."

"Gymnasts are supposed to be pretty"

"She isn't even that pretty"

"Olympic Gymnasts are hot, that's why I watch the sport"

"She's an 8 because she doesn't have an ass"

"You never get to the face because the body is so good"- Donald Trump
